Shangri La Resort. Food was great, a beautiful, peaceful heavenly place. We took guided jeep tours to Satpara and Kachura lakes and other places one day, and the next day to Deosai Plains, it is a very high plateau with snow covered mountains in the summer. Skardu is a fantastic place to visit in the north of Pakistan. It is an experience of a lifetime.Skardu is the main town of Baltistan region, and is one of the districts of Pakistan’s Northern Areas. Skardu is absolutely a heaven on earth. The natural beauty is breath-taking. The harsh, high mountains, golden wheat fields, cold streams and green lakes. The fruit laden trees: apricot, apple, walnut, cherries and more. Simple, beautiful, honest people; most not yet tarnished by the selfishness of the modern world.
